Six on Saturday is a weekly meme originally hosted by The Propagator but now in the tender care of Jim at Garden Ruminations.
We had a night of useful rain this week which went some way to replenishing water butts and giving the earth a surface soak but probably not much more.

One – Blossom on a damson tree… in October?

Two – A neighbour dug up a clump of osteospermum from her front garden and gifted some to me. Some bits had no roots so I’ve treated those as cuttings. Others did have roots but because I had nowhere prepared for them, I just stuck them in the ground in a spare patch in the vegetable garden for the time being. A few have rewarded me with flowers.

Three – The teasels are just begging to be photographed at this time of year.

Four – The strawberry-like fruits of Arbutus unedo.

Five – The lone flower on a hardy geranium giving a welcome splash of colour.

Six – I’m always fascinated by the coiling flower stalks of Cyclamen hederifolium.
