Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is May Flowers, a great topic capable of being interpreted in multiple ways. I’ve chosen authors whose first names are the names of flowers or plants. Extra points please where a book title also includes the name of a flower!
Links from each title will take you to my review or the book description on Goodreads.
- Daphne du Maurier, author of Mary Anne
- Rose Tremain, author of Lily
- Iris Murdoch, author of The Bell
- Flora Johnston, author of The Paris Peacemakers
- Heather Cooper, author of Stealing Roses
- Daisy Goodwin, author of Diva
- Olive Collins, author of The Tide Between Us
- Hazel Gaynor, author of The Last Lifeboat
- Rosemary Sutcliff, author of The Flowers of Adonis
- Rowan Coleman, author of The Summer of Impossible Things
Sorry, chaps!

What a clever idea Cathy! 💐🌸

It was a really old copy. I suspect there are more attractive covers on more recent editions.

Haha, desperation brings inspiration. I was too lazy to go hunting for books with flowers on the cover although I suspect I have many. And now I think about it I could have just featured some of my gardening books. I must remember to save that one for a week where I’m comlpetely stumped.

I did not know Daphne was a flower! You learn something new everyday lol.
Nice list!

A shrub, if I’m being totally accurate but it does produce flowers! You have some lovely flowery covers on your list.

Oh, fun! I like how you did this. I haven’t read any of these books.
