Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday is Books for Armchair Travellers. I’ve picked ten books set in countries I’d love to visit but haven’t yet. Click on the cover to read my review.
Ireland – The Spinning Heart by Donal Ryan
Canada – Sick Heart River by John Buchan
India – The Forgotten Daughter by Anirudh Joshi
China – The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
Iceland – Animal Life by Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir
Morocco – Night Train to Marrakech by Dina Jefferies
Japan – A Single Rose by Muriel Barbery
Egypt – Cairo Gambit by S. W. Perry
New Zealand – All Day at the Movies by Fiona Kidman
Australia – The White Girl by Tony Birch

Great post, Cathy. I have a few of those destinations on my bucket list also.

I love this collection of books. I read Animal Life a couple of years ago, and have The White Girl on my TBR.

The Good Earth was a good read.

Strangely although I read and reviewed it years ago it’s still the review that gets the most views!

My sister has visited Iceland a couple of times and I’m quite jealous.

A great selection Cathy. It’s been a while since I read a Pearl S Buck book but I think I may have read your choice.

I’ve visited Ireland, but none of the other countries on your list. I also picked books set in places I’ve never been to, although I’m very unlikely to ever visit any of mine!

I’ve read one of the books on your list – The Predicament – and I have been to Guatemala, although only a one day stop on a cruise.

I hope you get to one or more of these places eventually
