Six on Saturday is a weekly meme originally hosted by The Propagator but now in the tender care of Jim at Garden Ruminations.
We still haven’t had any significant rain here in Berkshire which means more work with the watering can. On the other hand it means bright, beautiful mornings when it’s a pleasure to be in the garden even doing something as tedious as weeding.

One – All the ‘Charlotte’ second early potatoes have been planted into bags so now it’s a case of keeping a watch for leaves appearing and topping them up with compost.

Two – The courgettes are growing fast, so much so that a couple already have flower buds forming on them. Next job is to start hardening them off by putting them outside during the day.

Three – Hosta leaves emerging and – so far – unnibbled by slugs, although I suspect there may be a few hunkered down under the pot.

Four – The bergenia in a border near the house has finally got around to flowering. The small pots behind it top right were labelled, not very helpfully, ‘?’ but have turned out to be nothing more exciting than bluebells of which I already have an abundance.

Five – A clump of the aforementioned bluebells although at least some are showing a variation in colour from the overwhelming mass of blue.

Six – It’s apple blossom time.
