Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is a freebie so we’re invited to come up with our own topic. Inspired by a book title I saw on social media, here’s a list of books whose titles are addresses (of varying precision). Links from the titles will take you to the book description on Goodreads.
10 Rillington Place by Ludovic Kennedy
Poor Boy Road by James L. Weaver
6 Ripley Avenue by Noelle Holten
The Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward
204 Rosewood Lane by Debbie Macomber
Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons
Brick Lane by Monica Ali
No. 23 Burlington Square by Jenni Keer
The Train House on Lobengula Street by Fatima Kara
The Good Husband of Zebra Drive by Alexander McCall Smith
What a brilliant idea!

Thanks, I liked yours too. I think I can only tick off three of the places. One of them is not St. Kilda!

I haven’t been there either but would love to. Such a fascinating place. It’s incredible how people were able to live in such a small place for so long.

If you haven’t read it already, I can recommend The Lost Lights of St Kilda by Elisabeth Gifford

This is a cool topic! I like addresses in books, especially if they’re of real places.

Clever! Good Husband of Zebra Drive–love No 1 Ladies! And Cold Comfort is so fun. I’ll have to see about some of the other–I think I put 23 Burlington Square on my Mom’s kindle–I’ll put it on mine too. Good work!

Excellent list! I find that books with an address in the title can sound very charming.

The first one that popped into my head was 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Then Utopia Avenue by David Mitchell.

Someone else mentioned 84 Charing Cross Road which I’m kicking myself I didn’t think of. Utopia Avenue nearly made my list.

One of the first ones I would have used would have been 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff (yeah, it is non-fiction, but it is one of the best non-fiction books I’ve ever read).

I’m now kicking myself I didn’t think of that one

What a great idea for a list! The only one I’ve read is The Last House on Needless Street, which I loved. Very unsettling.

Oh, this is fun! I have Cold Comfort Farm waiting on my shelf. The only other one I can think of off the top of my head is 84, Charing Cross Road, which is a lovely little book.
