I’ll be honest it was a bit scary. We went to Cartagena and our tour guide said to keep to close to him as we were walking through the streets. Perhaps he was just worried about someone getting lost but I’m not so sure…

I remember intentionally finding a book set in Alaska before going on my cruise a couple of years ago. It worked out perfectly that the book I borrowed from my library was written by someone from one of the ports we stopped in.

It is always fun to read about places you’ve been. It is also fun to visit a place you’ve read about! After reading a few of Colleen McCullough’s Masters of Rome books, I finally got the chance to go there, and my husband was amazed at how much I knew about the Forum!

I’ve been to Vienna, but it hardly counts since it was just an overnight layover. I definitely want to go back to Austria to actually experience the country. I haven’t been to any of the other places, although some of them are on my travel bucket list.
