Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the First Half of 2026. My list is a combination of 2026 releases on my NetGalley shelf and books on my wishlist. And, yes, most of them are historical fiction. Links from each title will take you to the book description on Goodreads.
- Room 706 by Ellie Levenson (Headline, 20th January)
- The Shock of the Light by Lori Inglis Hall (The Borough Press, 12th February)
- The House of Fallen Sisters by Louise Hare (HQ, 12th February)
- Female, Nude by Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett (Tinder Press, 12th February)
- Paper Sisters by Rachel Canwell (Northodox Press, 12th February)
- A Private Man by Stephanie Sy-Quia (Picador, 19th February)
- Love Lane by Patrick Gale (Tinder Press, 26th March)
- The News From Dublin: Stories by Colm Toibin (Picador, 26th March)
- Dark is the Morning by Rupert Thomson (Apollo, 7th May)
- Rose & Renzo by Carolyn O’Brien (Northodox Press, 14th May)

All totally new to me, although then I am not that much a historical fiction reader so not surprising. I hope you really enjoy them.

Room 706 caught my curiosity when I first saw it a few months ago. I’m not sure why I haven’t added it to my TBR. I hope you enjoy reading all of these when you get the chance.

I’d love to get an ARC of the Patrick Gale, but he doesn’t seem to put his books up on either NetGalley or Edelweiss… <sigh>!

I got my ARC via NetGalley, from the UK site.

I think I need to get a VPN to get more books from NetGalley.

I’ve not read either of Douglas Stuart’s books but John of John sounds quite appealing because of the island setting.
