Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Book Covers that Give off Autumn Vibes. I’ve taken inspiration from words that appear in John Keats’ poem ‘To Autumn’. (You can find the complete poem on The Poetry Foundation website). Links will take you to my review or the book description on Goodreads.
- ‘To Autumn’ – Autumn by Ali Smith
- ‘Season of…‘ – The Cutting Season by Attica Locke
- ‘…mists and mellow fruitfulness’ – The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng
- ‘Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun‘ – The Sun Walks Down by Fiona McFarlane
- ‘To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees’ – Apples Never Fall by Liane Moriarty
- ‘To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells’ – The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert
- ‘And still more, later flowers for the bees‘ – Secrets of the Bees by Jane Johnson
- ‘Or sinking as the light wind lives or dies’ – The Western Wind by Samantha Harvey
- ‘The red-breast whistles from a garden-croft’ – The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton
- ‘And gathering swallows twitter in the skies’ – Before the Swallows Come Back by Fiona Curnow

You’ve picked some fabulous books for this topic Cathy. I’ve read The Forgotten Garden, but Secrets Of The Bees calls to me.

Thanks. I’m sure I should get extra points for not including any pumpkins… or at least I think I didn’t.

Thank you. Often one of my ‘creative’ ideas starts to feel like an uphill battle by the time I get to number 6 or 7!

Very Fall-ish! I’ve only read Autumn by Ali Smith. No post from me this week.

I love how creative you are, Cathy! I’ve read APPLES NEVER FALL and THE SECRET GARDEN and loved them both. In fact, APPLES is my favorite Moriarty book.
Happy TTT!
