Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Literary/Bookish Candles I’d Make in which we’re invited to pair books with a fragrance. Not being into scented candles I’ve come up with my own twist on the topic: book titles that involve darkness and where a candle might come in handy. Links will take you to my review.
- The Great Darkness by Jim Kelly
- Dark Frontier by Matthew Harffy
- Darkness Does Not Come At Once by Glen Bryant
- The Coming Darkness by Greg Mosse
- The Dark Flood by Deon Meyer
- Down A Dark River by Karen Odden
- Wolves in the Dark by Gunnar Staalesen
- Dark Sky Island by Lara Dearman
- To The Dark by Chris Nickson
- The Blanket of the Dark by John Buchan

Oh good one! You’ve got me on a John Buchan roll, so I shall have to look up The Blanket of The Dark.

What a great way to twist this post. Cathy! Haven’t read any of these but To The Dark sounds wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

I love seeing how candles illuminate a dark room. So pretty.

This is such a unique take on the prompt, Cathy! I love that you decided to go with books on the ‘dark side’ instead of candles. It’s a brilliant way to put your own spin on it. I’ll definitely be adding some of these to my to-read list. Great post!

I like your spin on the topic! Being a big mystery/thriller lover, I read a lot of books with “dark” titles, although I have not read any of these.
Happy TTT!

I love your twist on the topic. I’m not a huge fragrance person, but I do have a small collection of candles that I enjoy burning. They are mostly based on baked goods.
