Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is a Books With Occupations in the Title. Links from the title will take you to my review.
- Butler to the World by Oliver Burrough
- The Surgeon‘s House by Jody Cooksley
- That Bonesetter Woman by Frances Quinn
- The Bookseller by Tim Sullivan
- The Draughtsman by Robert Lautner
- The Glassmaker by Tracy Chevalier
- The German Messenger by David Malcolm
- The Diver and the Lover by Jeremy Vine
- The Painter of Souls by Philip Kazan
- The Letter Reader by Jan Casey

I like Tracy Chevalier, I’ve not read The Glassmaker.

I enjoyed it but not as much as others because my too logical brain couldn’t quite accept the central premise.

I haven’t heard of any of these books, so I’ll have to go and look some of them up! Any particular favourites?

You have some great choices here, Cathy. The only one I’ve read is The Glassmaker. Some occupations I hadn’t thought of.

I haven’t read any of these, but thanks for the recommendations! I found this topic more difficult than I expected but it was a nice challenge.

What a fantastic and original list! I really enjoyed seeing all the different kinds of occupations you came up with, from the historical to the more unique. This was such a great idea for this week’s topic!
