Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Books I Meant to Read in 2023 but Didn’t Get To. And I’m supposed to list only ten? I need #TopHundredTuesday for this topic! Narrowing it down slightly, the books listed below were part of 2023 reading challenges that I didn’t complete: my Backlist Burrow personal reading challenge (books 1 – 5) and the 20 Books of Summer reading challenge (books 6 – 10).
Links from the title will take you to the book description on Goodreads.
- All Day at the Movies by Fiona Kidman
- The Infinite Air by Fiona Kidman
- Himself by Jess Kidd
- A Dry Spell by Clare Chambers
- Pure by Andrew Miller
- To Calais, in Ordinary Time by James Meek
- The Cross and the Curse (The Bernicia Chronicles #2) by Matthew Harffy
- Finding Dorothy by Elizabeth Letts
- Blood Orange by Harriet Tyce
- Anna of Kleve, Queen of Secrets by Alison Weir
Which books would you have liked to get to in 2023?
I’ve only read Blood Orange from your selection. I like the sound of Finding Dorothy.

Nice selection! I haven’t read any of these, but the ones I looked up sound really cool. Finding Dorothy sounds like a really clever book. Thanks for sharing your list. 🙂

I think the first book I’d like to get to in 2024 (even though we’re almost done with January lol) is RED STRING THEORY (and I’m currently reading that for my book club). Happiest of reading!
