#TopTenTuesday Books On My Winter 2020/21 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post. Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists. Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s topic is Books On My Winter 2020-2021 TBR. Here are ten I’m hoping to read between now and the end of February.  Links from the titles will take you to the book description on Goodreads.

Children’s Fate (The Meonbridge Chronicles #4) by Carolyn Hughes – continuing the story of Meonbridge in the wake of the Black Death
The Prophets by Robert Jones, Jr. – a story of love in all its permutations
The Push by Ashley Audrain – “The women in this family, we’re different…”
The Art of Dying by Ambrose Parry – second in the series of historical mysteries set in Edinburgh
Forgotten Lives (DCI Doug Stirling #2) by Ray Britain – police procedural

To The Dark by Chris Nickson – the third in the Simon Westow historical mystery series
A Prince and a Spy by Rory Clements – a Cambridge spy must unravel a dangerous mystery that goes all the way to the heart of the Third Reich…and the British Monarchy
The Disoriented by Amin Maalouf – after 25 years in exile, Adam travels from France to his homeland in the Middle East to bid farewell to his dying childhood friend
The Girl at the Back of the Bus by Suzette D. Harrison – a heartbreaking and inspirational novel about redemption, family secrets and the spirit of survival
Madam by Phoebe Wynne – “Light a fire they can’t put out…”

As it’s Thanksgiving on Thursday (in those countries who celebrate it), this week’s topic is a Freebie on the theme of Thankful For… I’m thankful for lots of things but I’m especially grateful that I have the time to indulge my love of reading, and work on reducing my TBR pile. Well, that’s the theory but how did I do in practice with the books I put on my Autumn 2020 TBR?

In answer to my own question – how did I do? – my response would be, not bad at all. Although let’s not talk about how many new books arrived in the same period…
