#TopTenTuesday Books Released In 2024 I Still Haven’t Read #TuesdayBookBlog

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is 2024 Releases I Was Excited to Read But Still Haven’t Got To. I can safely say that any book I add to my TBR pile is one I’m excited about reading but being excited about it and actually getting around to reading it are two different things I have discovered!

All the books in my list are 2024 releases I acquired last year. And for those of you murmuring, ‘How can she not have read that yet, it’s brilliant!’, I hear you, I really do. I’m just glad this topic doesn’t ask you to look at 2023 releases you were excited about that you still haven’t read!

Links from each title will take you to the book description on Goodreads.

  1. James and John: A True Story of Prejudice and Murder by Chris Bryant
  2. Burma Sahib by Paul Theroux
  3. There Are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak
  4. The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden
  5. Tell Me Everything by Elizabeth Strout
  6. The Betrayal of Thomas True by A. J. West
  7. The Mischief Makers by Elisabeth Gifford
  8. The Silence Factory by Bridget Collins
  9. The Spoiled Heart by Sunjeev Sahota
  10. The Midnight Hour by Eve Chase

What 2024 releases are still sitting in your TBR pile?

2025 Nonfiction Reader Challenge #ReadNonFicChal @bookdout

The Nonfiction Reader Challenge is hosted by Shellyrae at Book’d Out. Its aim is to encourage us to make nonfiction part of our reading experience during the year. I’ll let Shellyrae explain more…

How it works – You can select, read and review a book from the categories listed below during the year for a total of up to 12 books; OR select, read and review any nonfiction book. A book may be in print, electronic or audio format.

You can choose your books as you go or create a list in advance. Use your best good faith judgement as to whether a book fits the category or not. Where a book is identified by more than one category, it may only count for one, not both. You can read your chosen titles in any order, at any pace, just aim to complete the challenge by December 31st 2025

Choose a goal

Nonfiction Nipper: Read & review 3 books, from any 3 listed categories
Nonfiction Nibbler: Read & review 6 books, from any 6 listed categories
Nonfiction Nosher: Read & review 12 books, one for each category
Nonfiction Grazer: Read & review any nonfiction book. Set your own goal, or none at all, just share the nonfiction you read through the year.

As I’m a rather infrequent reader of nonfiction up until now, I’m chosen Nonfiction Nibbler as my goal. Links from each title will take you to my review.
