Top Ten Tuesday: Best Books I’ve Read in 2018 (So Far)

Top Ten Tuesday new

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to The Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s topic is Best Books I’ve Read in 2018 (So Far).  This was a tough one for me.  Not because I had trouble coming up with ten books I’ve loved.  Oh no.  Because I had trouble selecting only ten from the one hundred books I’ve read so far this year.  (You can find my complete reading list here along with my ratings and links to my reviews.) However, after much to-ing and fro-ing, I managed to settle on just ten (shown in no particular order of preference).   It will probably come as no surprise to regular followers of this blog that they are all historical fiction novels.

This week’s topic is Books with Red, White, & Blue Covers, in honour of tomorrow being the Fourth of July holiday in the USA.  They also happen to be the colours of the UK flag.   I’ve chosen books I’ve  read or books in my TBR pile.
