Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2024. Looking down the list of books I read in 2024 I was pleasantly surprised by how many were by authors I’d never read before. Here are just ten of them. Links from each title will take you to my review.

- The Wager by David Grann
- A Better Place by Stephen Daisley

I haven’t read any of these authors, although THE WAGER and OUR SOULS AT NIGHT are both books I want to read at some point. I’m glad you discovered some great new authors in 2024.
Happy TTT!

Thanks, those two were both book club picks and I can safely say I would probably never had read them otherwise, which is the great thing about being part of a book club I think

I’ve only read His Bloody Project and The Paris Peacemakers from your selection. I wonder who we will discover this year? 📚

Good question. I don’t think I actively seek out new authors, I just see a book I like the look of and it’s a bonus if it’s an author who’s written a lot of other books. Not so good for the TBR pile or wallet though…

I love Kent Haruf, Caty, but haven’t read any other of your new authors. 💖📚

I’m a bit scared to look at other books Kent Haruf wrote because it could do serious damage to my TBR pile! Is there a particular one you can recommend?
