Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Favorite Book Quotes but I’ve done that one several times before so I’ve come up with my own topic: books that are set in workplaces. Links from each title will take you to my review.
Hospital – Sometimes People Die by Simon Stephenson
Hotel – Hokey Pokey by Kate Mascarenhas
Antarctic research station – Cold, Cold Heart by Christine Poulson
Brothel – The Wolf Den by Elodie Harper
Library – The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams
Factory – Night Shift by Inez Holden
Bookshop – Mr Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
Department store – Business As Usual by Jane Oliver & Ann Stafford
Post office – The Lost Letters of William Woolf by Helen Cullen
School – Madam by Phoebe Wynne
What books have you read set in workplaces? The stranger, the better!

Great idea Cathy. It would be hard to beat your Antarctic Research Station for an unusual work place!

Antarctica is such a cool setting for a book both literally and figuratively. 😀

I love the variety of workplace settings you chose! The Antarctic research station sounds especially interesting. I’ll have to take a closer look at that book.
Happy TTT!

I just finished a cozy mystery where the story was set on a farm where the MC ran a Goat Yoga retreat business. It’s called An Escape Goat by Janna Rollins.

I don’t think I’ve read a lot of books set in department stores, but now I want to. 🙂
