#TopTenTuesday Ten Books for Lovers… of Gardens #TuesdayBookBlog

Top Ten TuesdayTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week’s topic is a freebie on the theme of love given it’s Valentine’s Day tomorrow. As it happens, today is my wedding anniversary. My husband and I got married in Barbados, in the magical Hunte’s Gardens (well worth a visit if you’re ever fortunate enough to travel to the island) so my list has a botanical theme.

Links from the title will take you to my review or the book description on Goodreads.

  1. The Fair Botanists by Sara Sheridan
  2. Where the Hornbeam Grows by Beth Lynch
  3. The Signature of All Things by Elizabeth Gilbert
  4. A Single Rose by Muriel Barbery
  5. A Wedding in the Olive Garden by Leah Fleming
  6. The Olive Garden Choir by Leah Fleming
  7. The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
  8. A Fenland Garden by Francis Pryor
  9. The Garden of Evening Mists by Tan Twan Eng
  10. The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton

  1. What a great idea for this week’s freebie, and I really like the reasoning behind it. It’s so romantic, and I’ll definitely keep that in mind – I’ve always wanted to travel more extensively in the Caribbean. The islands are so pretty, and the pictures you included reinforce that idea even more.

Out of all the books on your list, the only one I’ve read was The Secret Garden, and that was a long, long time ago, but it made a really strong impression on me. The covers for the other books are so pretty, and it makes me want to look into them more, so thanks for giving me something else to add to my TBR!
