#TopTenTuesday Beyond Atmospheric Books #TuesdayBookBlog

Top Ten Tuesday new

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

  • Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
  • Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
  • Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
  • Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

Outer SpaceThis week’s topic is Atmospheric Books.

Houston, we have a problem . . .

My list is books that have literally no atmosphere – because they’re set in outer space or on other planets!

  1. Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar
  2. The Things We Learn When We’re Dead by Charlie Laidlaw
  3. The Martian by Andy Weir
  4. The Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
  5. The First Men in the Moon by H. G. Wells
  6. Dawn by Octavia E. Butler
  7. Dune by Frank Herbert
  8. The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
  9. 2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke
  10. Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky

  1. What a fun twist on the topic! I’m not much for sci-fi, so I don’t read a lot of books set in space. I did really like PROJECT HAIL MARY, though, and there’s a sweet middle-grade book I love called THE LION OF MARS. It’s more about relationships than about space, but still, it’s a great one.

    Happy TTT!

  2. I had a problem with this prompt, so I skipped this week. You had such a clever solution, bravo!
I have read a bunch of these. I was very unexpectedly impressed by The First Men in the Moon
