Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic is Books With One Word Titles, an idea suggested by Angela at Reading Frenzy Book Blog. I must admit I initially thought I’d have more books with one word titles but I’d almost got to the end of the alphabet before I came up with ten. My conclusion: one word titles are popular for historical thrillers… Links from each title will take you to my review.
Bellatrix by Simon Turney
Betrayal by David Gilman
Charlotte by Helen Moffett
Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell
Katastrophe by Graham Hurley
Learwife by JR Thorp
Munich by Robert Harris
Nemesis by Rory Clements
Song by Michelle Jana Chan
Songbirds by Christy Lefteri
What books with one word titles do you have on your bookshelves?

This was really tricky wasn’t it! I had to go back through my Goodreads shelf to January 2021 to finally get ten. I’ve read Charlotte and Hamnet from your selection. My list will go love very soon!

I didn’t even think of Nemesis shocking! 😂 btw did you know he’s got a new series set in wartime Germany coming out next year?

And I could have had Corpus and Nucleus as well of course! Yes, I heard he has a new one but hadn’t realised until it was a standalone. I’ve been checking NetGalley regularly to see if it’s available to request!

It was, wasn’t it? I’ve been meaning to read some of her other books ever since. Unsurprisingly I haven’t yet…

Nice list. Hamnet was very good. Munich and LearWife are on my TBR.

I wasn’t such a fan of Hamnet as other people but I’ll devour anything Robert Harris writes and really enjoyed Munich.

Jeremy Irons is in the Munich movie, but it is on Netflix and I want to read it first. I listened to Hamnet–maybe that made it “lighter”?

Katastrophe is a fun title.

I’m apparently not a huge fan of one-word book titles either. I could only find ten on my TBR list and I honestly couldn’t think of ten I’d read that I really liked. Interesting!
Happy TTT!

I’ve heard of a few of these but I haven’t read any! One word book titles aren’t something I tend to get all that much in the books I read, fantasy and historical fiction tend to have longer titles but I did manage to find plenty this week anyway.
