Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is One Word Reviews for the Last Ten Books I Read, submitted by Susan at Blogginboutbooks. Links from the title will take you to my full review.
Fortune by Amanda Smyth – Tantalising
The Fall by Rachael Blok – Taut
The Capsarius by Simon Turney – Tempestuous
Mr Bunting at War by Robert Greenwood – Touching
The Dark Flood by Deon Meyer – Thrilling
Mailed Fist by John Foley – Truthful
In Place of Fear by Catriona McPherson – Teasing
The Girl from Lamaha Street by Sharon Maas – Thoughtful
Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner – Twisty
The Birdcage by Eve Chase – Tense
[Oh, that’s clever. Can you see what she’s done there? All the adjectives begin with T! You know, for Top Ten Tuesday. Gosh, if you hadn’t pointed it out to me I might not have noticed. I’m sure you would, you’re quite observant when you put your mind to it. You really think so? Yes, but can we go and look at some other blog posts now?]

Ahhhh I love that they all start with T! It was very clever 🙂 Also I am super impressed that you managed to find that many T-words that fit … I struggled to find words and I didn’t limit myself to a single letter 😂

I immediately saw your words are all starting with T and thought it was very clever. I had to look up tempestuous though…! Luckily I now have a new word for Wondrous Words Wednesday!
You have a lovely selection of books here as well.
Happy TTT!

Thank you, I was pleased with that one. Wouldn’t life be easier if all our reviews could be one word ones?

I LOVE that you did all t-words. Awesome! “Taut” is one of my favorite book-describing adjectives. I overuse it so much that my husband makes fun of me for it frequently. Ha ha. “Tempestuous” is a great one, so is “tantalizing.” I’m getting so many great ideas today for new adjectives I can use for my reviews instead of the ones I use over and over.
Happy TTT!

Yes, it forced me to move away from ones I probably overuse such as ‘compelling’

10 Ts for TTT? I love it! Plus, they all sound like they could be for one book and not just 10 separates.

Thanks. I was pleased myself when I came up with the idea and then cursing myself when I started to run out of suitable adjectives! I think it’s called being too clever by half.

I laughed at your alliteration. 😀 Also, I have Greenwich Park on hold at the library, I can’t wait to start it!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

You should have seen me searching for adjectives starting with T for the final few 😕

I love that not only you did the one-word reviews, but you also did words all starting with the same letter. Very clever. (I tried to come up with a word that also starts with a T, but I couldn’t come up with one, lol.)

It got hard towards the end, I admit… or perhaps I should say Tough!

I love Deon Myer but I haven’t read The Dark Flood yet. I’ll have to track it down

It was the first one of his books I’ve read – I’d never heard of him before – but I’d certainly read more.

I knew this would be easy for you, with your three words describing each book, but I’m glad to see you challenged yourself with the T words! Brava!
