Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
- Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want.
- Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post.
- Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists.
- Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Titles or Covers That Made Want to Read/Buy the Book. Links from the book title will take you to my review or the book description on Goodreads.
The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams – Beautiful cover and a reference to books… what more can you ask for?
The Dictionary of Lost Words by Pip Williams – You see a theme developing here…
Still Life by Sarah Winman – As soon as I saw this cover – not to mention the great reviews – I couldn’t resist this one.
Miss Benson’s Beetle by Rachel Joyce – I’ll be honest I prefer my insects in books rather than real life.
A Net for Small Fishes by Lucy Jago – The title intrigued me and the clever cover sold it to me.
Unsettled Ground by Claire Fuller – Another beautiful cover that was calling to me from the bookshop shelves.
The Foundling by Stacey Halls – Another cover that is so full of interest.
This Lovely City by Louise Hare – Having recently finished reading this (review coming soon) I can now appreciate how well the cover matches the story
How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House by Cherie Jones – I don’t know about you, but I’m dying to find out
The Girl With The Louding Voice by Abi Daré – I want to know this girl better

The Foundling has such a great cover.

Funny that you mention THE READING LIST. I just got a copy of it from the publisher in the mail yesterday. I’m always excited to read books about books. Mine has a different cover, though.
Happy TTT!

I really hope you enjoy it. I only had a digital copy but sorely tempted to buy an actual copy.

I don’t usually choose a book solely on the cover. I like to read the blurb but I’ll admit a great cover can catch my eye. I enjoyed The Night Tiger and love that cover.

I rarely buy a book solely based on the cover either, but there are some where the cover is 100% what brought the book to my notice.

That’s where bookshop browsing beats online, I think. Something catches your eye and before you know it you’re at the checkout 😁

Oh, the number of times I have done that… 😉

Great list of books! I added The Reading List to my TBR as soon as I saw the cover, then I read the synopsis and knew I had to read it. Every cover I have seen for The Girl With the Louding Voice is eye-catching. And it’s a great read.

Love your summer theme. If it was a true reflection of the summer we’ve had here, the covers would be rain themed 😁🌂

Stacey Hall’s previous book, The Familiars, had a similarly lovely cover. I often think book cover designers are the unsung heroes/heroines of the publishing world.

Yes it does, I have that one too! Oh they definitely are, it’s why I’ve started adding designer credits on every cover post I do, I should have done it ages ago.

The cover of This Lovely City by Louise Hare is quite unique.
Here’s my list this week.

I’ve been glued to the Olympics as well and enjoyed being introduced to new sports like taikwondo that I had no idea that I’d get into.
