Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post. Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists. Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Non-Bookish Hobbies. I’ll admit my first reaction when I saw the topic was what is this thing – hobbies that don’t involve books? My second was, how do people find time to have ten other hobbies? I don’t know about you, but between reading, blogging and mundane life stuff, I find there’s little time for anything else. However, here are ten clues – albeit in book form – to my other interests.
What’s your favourite hobby when you’re not reading books? By the way, buying books doesn’t count as a hobby…

What?! Buying books totally counts as a hobby!

Yes, lots of my non-bookish hobbies involve books, but don’t involve actually reading them cover-to-cover. It counts. Just ’cause I say it does.

So: Travel, friendships, gardening, bird-watching, acting/ movies/ theatre? Did I get it correctly or have I fumbled? Very neat idea and agree with you, totally “non-bookish” is very difficult to achieve. Happy TTT!

You like trees? I just read a book you might like then. It was called Sorrow by TIffanie DeBartolo. Had a ton of stuff about trees in it.

I love how you did this in books!

I wish I had a greener thumb! I kill all plants, bar none. Well, that’s not true – I have a cactus and an aloe vera plant (both gifts from people who don’t know me well) on my kitchen windowsill that are both doing very well. They’re hardy and do well on little water, which is good since I have a hard time remembering to water them …
Happy TTT!

I love your clues. I didn’t get them all, but after reading the other responses, I think I did.

Excuse me but… buying books DOES TOO count as a hobby – or at the very least, visiting book stores should be considered a hobby.

Haha. Where does “hobby” end and “addiction” begin? 😀📚📚📚
