Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post. Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists. Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Books that Give Off Summer Vibes. Here are a few things I associate with summer, in the UK at least.
Heatstroke by Hazel Barkworth
Instructions for a Heatwave by Maggie O’Farrell
Sunburn by Laura Lippman
The Ice Cream Girls by Dorothy Koomson
The Girls in the Garden by Lisa Jewell
This Green and Pleasant Land by Ayisha Malik
Swimming Lessons by Claire Fuller
A Wedding in the Olive Garden by Leah Fleming
The Beach House by James Patterson
The Strawberry Thief by Joanne Harris
I was going to include The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks but that seemed too much like tempting fate for your next picnic or barbeque…

Those covers, alone, shout summer!

Ha ha. I love this list 🙂 Ice cream and sunburn are two things I definitely associate with summer. My skin is so fair that it just doesn’t stand a chance. I have to reapply my sunscreen every half hour!
Happy TTT!
