#TopTenTuesday Love Island(s)

Top Ten Tuesday newTop Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.

The rules are simple:

Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post. Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists. Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.

This week it’s a freebie where we’re invited to put our own spin on the theme of Love. My list is made up of books that involve a love story of one kind or another and which are set on islands (real and fictional). Links from the book titles will take you to my review or the book description on Goodreads.

The Isle of Wight – Stealing Roses by Heather Cooper

  1. This has really got me thinking. I liked the early Shetland novels by Anne Cleeves, they really make use of the island setting, the tight-knit community and the remoteness/confinement. I’m sure there are lots more if I mull it over!

  2. Clever approach to the topic! I admit when I saw “The Olive Garden Choir,” my first thought was “choir and pasta! [the restaurants Olive Garden] and then I thought of Carol Drinkwater’s wonderful Olive Farm series. Good work!

  3. Ohh this is a great list! I would really love to read more books set on islands or generally isolated settings. I haven’t read much of those, but really enjoyed the ones I did read. Thanks for sharing! 😁

  4. What a great idea! I haven’t read any of these yet. Thank you for sharing them! On of my favorite books set on an island is The Soldier’s Wife by Margaret Leroy. ❤
