Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
The rules are simple:
Each Tuesday, Jana assigns a new topic. Create your own Top Ten list that fits that topic – putting your unique spin on it if you want. Everyone is welcome to join but please link back to That Artsy Reader Girl in your own Top Ten Tuesday post. Add your name to the Linky widget on that day’s post so that everyone can check out other bloggers’ lists. Or if you don’t have a blog, just post your answers as a comment.
This week’s topic is Extraordinary Book Titles. Links from the book titles will take you to the description on Goodreads.
The Hundred-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee
A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggars
Rum, Bum, And Concertina by George Melly
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S Thompson
The Truth Will Set You Free, But First It Will Piss You Off!: Thoughts on Life, Love, and Rebellion by Gloria Steinem
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
Norwegian Wood: Chopping, Stacking, and Drying Wood the Scandinavian Way by Lars Mytting
Adolf Hitler: My Part in His Downfall by Spike Milligan
Handcuffs, Truncheon and a Polyester Thong by Gina Kirkham
What extraordinary book titles have caught your eye?

Louise Rennison (contemporary YA) has some fab titles, including “Angus, Thongs and Full-frontal Snogging” and “It’s OK, I’m Wearing Really Big Knickers” 🙂

Yes, that first one nearly made my list. The inventiveness is great, isn’t it?

It is, but they had to censor it for the movie adaptation and replace “full-frontal snogging” with “perfect snogging” 😆
