2018 TBR Pile Challenge: Challenge Update

TBR Challenge 2018

I signed up for this challenge hosted by Adam at RoofBeamReader as the perfect motivation to force me to read some of the wonderful books I have sitting on my Kindle or bookshelves but which never seem to get to the top of the reading pile.  Well, that was the idea at least…

You can find more details about the challenge here but the most important rule is that the books must have been on your bookshelf or “To Be Read” list for AT LEAST one full year. .

My list is shown below.  Unfortunately, with less than ten days to go, I’ve only read four of them (follow the link from the book title to read my review).  Pathetic, I know.  I’ve also been remiss at posting updates for the monthly checkpoints Adam hosts. There’s no way I’m going to read the other eight before the end of the year.  In fact, I’ll be lucky if I can manage one of them (probably The Man in the High Castle as it’s the shortest one).

I really hope the challenge runs again in 2019 because I’m determined to do better next year.

  1. It’s all good, as long as you enjoyed all (most;)) of the book you read this year! I planned on making good progress this year, and then next but have oversubscribed myself again! Looking forward to most of then so I think I’ll just have to suck it up!!!

    1. I’m going to make a determined effort not to over-commit to blog tours, etc next year, to sign up for less challenges and those I do sign up for try to use to read books from my TBR pile. It’s a plan anyway 😀

  3. Four books still count!! 🙂

    I’m only familiar with two titles left on your list. Surprisingly, I read The Bone Clocks much more quickly than The Man in the High Castle (which I still haven’t finished). High Castle has a weird vibe since it’s dated and futuristic at the same time. It seems like one of those books that might be engaging once the story starts, but I just haven’t made it that far.
